South Shore Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

Hello all!

As we fall into the end of October here, I wanted to communicate a few upcoming volunteer opportunities to everyone. There are a variety of days/times and commitment levels available this time. Please reach out if you have any questions!

THIS WEEK - Trunk-or-Treat, Picture Day, and Staff Appreciation!

• 10/26, flexible timing / Picture Day Supplies: Go shopping for a few requested items for picture day at South Shore. Expenses will be reimbursed.

• 10/26, 8-10AM / Staff Fall Celebration Support: Die-cut leaves and help make a tree for the staff fall celebration.

• 10/27, 2:30-4:30PM / Sea Dragon Swim Chaperones: Critical need for additional chaperones for our 5th-8th grade after school swim program.

• 10/27, 6-8PM / Trunk-or-Treat and Snack Drive: Host a trunk, facilitate an activity, or be a greeter. All materials will be provided - we just need you!

• 10/28, 8-9AM / Staff Fall Celebration potluck contributions: Drop off a dish for South Shore staff fall potluck.

• 10/28, 2 hours slots from 8AM-2PM / School Picture Day Support: Help direct hallway traffic and support students on picture day. Only for current registered SPS volunteers.

Ongoing - Staff Appreciation, Sea Dragon Swim, and Lunchroom Support:

• Monthly / Stock the Staff Lounge: Purchase and deliver beverages for the staff lounge. Expenses will be reimbursed.

• Thursdays, 2:30-4:30PM / Sea Dragon Swim Chaperones: Help chaperone our 5th-8th grade after school swim program.

• Weekdays, 90 minute slots between 10:30AM-1:30PM / Lunchroom Support: Help supervise the lunchroom whenever fits your schedule - one time, once a month, or once a week. SPS registered volunteers only.

Upcoming and other - Family Support, Membership, and More:

• Winter Clothing Drive: Help plan and/or support a winter clothing drive and supplemental grant-funded purchasing to help keep our South Shore students warm and dry this winter. Reply to this email to indicate interest!

• Family Supply Closet: Help plan for a new supply closet/pantry for our South Shore Community. Reply to this email to indicate interest!

• Communications: Help PTSA with social media posts, a newsletter, etc. Reply to this email to indicate interest!

• Membership: Help PTSA with outreach at PTSA and school events to include more of our school community. Reply to this email to indicate interest!

• Website Assistance: Help update the school website on your own time. Reply to this email to indicate interest!

• And More: Advocacy, Community Ambassadors, Finance, Fundraising/Grants, Hospitality + Events, PTSA Programs, Staff Appreciation, Classroom Support, and Nominating Committee. Indicate interest here!
