Hi friends!

Since the organization we have to come to know as the PTSA was founded in 1897, it has always been an advocating and organizing force for children. We in the South Shore PTSA intend to strengthen this emphasis this year and, as one very simple step, we’re adding an advocacy page to our website. At this point it focuses on some of the work being organized on the city, state and national level but, with your help, we’ll soon add information about how we’re supporting some of these initiatives as South Shore and new opportunities for advocacy in our school and community. Take a look!

Advocacy is central to every local unit’s mission. The role of Seattle Council PTSA is to represent and support the PTA units in the District, and that means helping to organize our collective voices to advocate for the well-being of all children.
