Toy Drive Update — Deadline Extended!

To give more time for donations, the  deadline for the toy drive is extended to Friday, 12/12. If you haven’t had a chance to contribute yet, there’s still time to make a big difference and help us reach our goal!

The South Shore PK-8 Family and Student Advocate Group is hosting a Toy Drive to spread holiday cheer to families in need. 

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

1. DONATE new unwrapped toys or gift cards for families in need*.  Donations being accepted NOW through Friday December 12th.  Drop off at South Shore PK-8 School (Main Entrance) 4800 S Henderson St. Seattle, WA 98118.

2. VOLUNTEER your time to help make the Toy Drive a success!  Volunteers needed Monday December 15th and Tuesday December 16th. 

Click on the online Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet to select a day/time to help. Please note: the volunteer website is workable on computer or phone, but easier from a computer.

Suggested Donations:

Age Range	Gift Type
Infant – 2 yrs	Soft toys, sensory items, board books
Ages 3 – 5	Early learning toys, dolls, cars, Play-Doh
Ages 6 – 9	Crafts, games, building toys
Ages 10 – 12	Sports gear, art sets, board games
Ages 13+	Gift cards
Family	Grocery Gift Cards $25, $50, $100 - distributed according to family size

* The Toy Drive will prioritize support to the McKinney-Vento (MKV) families in our community.  MKV identifies students whose housing situation is temporary, uncertain, or unstable - such as living in shelters, hotels, or staying with other families due to financial hardship.  These students face barriers that can impact school attendance, emotional well-being, and their ability to access essential resources.
