Lumpia Fundraiser

Updated: Jan 8, 2020

Support South Shore PreK-8 PTSA by purchasing some homemade lumpia.

What is lumpia?

It is the Filipino version of fried egg rolls. It can be served as a side dish or as an appetizer.

Rolled by parent and community volunteers, the halal beef has been pre-cooked and rolled with veggies into egg roll wrappers. They are frozen and ready to fry.

How to prepare:

Remove lumpia from the freezer. Heat a heavy skillet over medium heat, add oil to 1/2 inch depth, and heat for 5 minutes. Slide 3 or 4 lumpia into the oil. Fry the rolls for 1 to 2 minutes, until all sides are golden brown. Note: If the lumpia are cooking too fast or burning, reduce the heat. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.

You can eat them plain, or they taste great with sweet chili sauce.

Thanks to our volunteers and Tilth Alliance for the support and the space to prepare this yummy treat!
