K-5 Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) Meetings Start March 3rd

Updated: Feb 25, 2021

South Shore will be holding APTT meetings in March for families with students in grades K-5. The first meeting is scheduled for 4th grade on Wednesday, March 3 from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. See the full meeting schedule below.

What is Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT)?

APTT involves strengthening partnerships between teachers and parents to achieve academic goals. Teachers in grades K-5 will be introducing APTT to parents during virtual meetings the beginning of March. Teachers will introduce parents to a fundamental skill that they will teach to parents in the form of a game. Teachers will ask parents to set a goal to work with their kids on this skill by playing the game at home. The idea is that students will make more progress when they are in school, if parents can work on a specific fundamental skill while they are at home. This progress will be measured. Teachers will meet with parents two times through out the year to continue this partnership. Parents should hear from your student's teacher about the upcoming APTT meeting. Please respond to the teacher invitation that you will be attending and request the languages that you may need for interpretation.
