April Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer in person:

April 17-28, 7:30-8AM or 2:15-2:45PM - Book Drive Support: Looking for volunteers at AM drop off or PM pick up to utilize the Monster shaped boxes for kids to contribute their donations. Work alone or with a partner to collect donations and carry books to the PTSA office. Okay to bring younger children! Sign up here for available slots and for additional details. April 28, 5:30-7:30PM - Book Drive Support for Literacy Night: Accept books at the Literacy Night in the PTSA room area. Sign up here for available slots and for additional details. April 28, 5-8PM - Literacy Night Support: South Shore is looking for a few volunteers to help at Literacy Night. Help out by staffing a station or assist with set up or clean up. Volunteers can be accompanied by children. Sign up here for available slots or contact Dione Johnson with questions at dcjohnson@seattleschools.org Thursdays, 2:25-4:25 - Seadragon Swim Chaperone: Help support the swim program, currently providing free and accessible swim lessons to 4th-8th grade students. We need volunteers to help chaperone spring session! Sign up here if you have volunteered previously or here if it is your first time.

Volunteer remotely or on your own schedule:

April 17-28, Book Drive Support on Social Media: Looking for volunteers willing to spread the word about this book drive on social media. No set day, time, or location for commitment so complete when you are able. Sign up here. Ongoing - Stock Emergency Snack Supply: Help PTSA purchase and deliver nut-free and gelatin-free snacks for S Shore teachers to use in their classrooms when supplies run out. Expenses reimbursed up to $250. Please deliver to the front office and help stock in the attendance office cupboards. Sign up here for monthly slots through the end of the year. Ongoing - South Shore Staff Appreciation: Help show our staff and teachers how much we appreciate them and purchase and deliver beverages for the South Shore Staff Lounge. Expenses will be reimbursed up to $75. Sign up here for monthly slots through the end of the year. Classroom snack donation: We are in need of snack donations for school and PTSA clubs. If you would like to donate, please drop your donations of nut-free and gelatin free snacks off at the front desk anytime.
