Message from Seattle Council PTSA:
Seattle Council PTSA has met and spoken with a number of community members and leaders that are directly involved in schools with Emphasis Officers and we are gathering their input.
As the largest advocacy organization in the district, it's of utmost importance to center the voices of those with direct contact with Officers Lucas, Robertson, Fason and Vargas and the educators that have witnessed their interactions with students and families before we make any petitions or demands.
There is also a bigger picture: how can we reconcile the work done by these officers and the police as a system with the terrible recent violence on peaceful demonstrators in Seattle and around our country.
Last but not least, we want to demand a space for our communities to heal and come together. We are in the thick of it.
