Academic Parent Teacher Teams- APTT

APTT involves strengthening partnerships between teachers and parents to achieve academic goals.

Teachers in grades K-3 will be introducing APTT to parents at curriculum night on October 30.  The teachers will be focusing on a fundamental skill that they will teach to parents in the form of a game.

At K-3 curriculum night teachers will ask parents to set a goal to work with their kids on this skill by playing a game at home.  The idea is that if parents can work on a specific fundamental skill at home, then students will make more progress when they are at school.  This progress will be measured.  Teachers will meet with parents 3 more times throughout the year to continue this partnership.

Call for Volunteers

We need some parents to help support teachers by helping them put together the game packets before the Oct 30 curriculum night.  This may involve activities that volunteers can take home, such as cutting, organizing game pieces into a zip lock bag for each student, etc.  We will also have some work parties to put papers into folders for each student in grades K-3. Any help (big or small) will be welcome and appreciated.
